To crown my thoughts with acts, be it thought and done:The castle of Macduff I will surprise,
Seize upon Fife; give to the edge o’ the sword
His wife, his babes, and all unfortunate souls
That trace him in his line. No boasting like a fool; This deed I’ll do before this purpose cool.
macbeth to lennox
act 4 scene 1
“ill start following up my thoughts with actions right now ill raid macduffs castle sieze the town of fife and kill his family ad anyone else unforunate enough to stand in line for his inheritance no more foolish talk i will do this deed before i lose my sense of purpose” (macbeth acts before thinking, making enemy)
Wisdom? To leave his wife, to leave his
babes, His mansion, and his titles, in a place
From whence himself does fly? He loves us not;
He wants the natural touch: for the poor wren,
The most diminutive of birds, will fight,
Her young ones in her nest, against the owl.
lady macduff about macduff to ross
act 4 scene 2
“how could it be wisdom to leave his wife his children his house and his title in a place so unsafe that he himself fleas it he doesnt love us he lacks the natural instinct to protect his fam even the fagile wren the smallest of birds will fight against the owl”
(symbol of birds.. shows lady macduff knows her husband is unmanly)
yet my poor country Shall have more vices than it had before, More suffer and more sundry ways than ever, By him that shall succeed.
malcolm to macduff about himself
act 4 scene 3
“them my poor country will be plagued by worst evil than it was before it will suffer worse and in more ways than ever under the reign of the king who follows macbeth”
(malcolm is lying about himself to test macduffs loyality and if his not a spy)
I put myself to thy direction and Unspeak mine own detraction; here abjure The taints and blames I laid upon myself, For strangers to my nature…. What I am truly, Is thine and my poor country’s to command:
malcolm to macduff
act 4 scene 3
“i will let myself be guided by you and i take back my confession i take back all the bad things i said about myself because none of those flaws are really part of my character.. the person who i really am is ready to serve you and our poor country”
(malcolm telling him that hes lying and that hes ready to take the throne)
Dispute it like a man.

I shall do so; But I must also feel it as a man.
Sinful Macduff,They were all struck for thee! Naught that I am, Not for their own demerits, but for mine,
Fell slaughter on their souls. Heaven rest them now!

Malcolm to Macduff… Macduff to Malcolm
act 4 scene 3
“fight like a man”
“i will but i also have to feel like a man i cant help remembering the thing that were most precious to me… sinful macduff they were killed because of you not as wicked as i am they were slaughtered because of me not because of what they did may god give there souls rest.”
(macduff admitting that hes foolish about not being manly he needs to get over his mistakes)
This tune goes manly. Come, go we to the King; our power is ready; Our lack is nothing but our leave. Macbeth is ripe for shaking, and the powers above
Put on their instruments
malcolm to macduff
act 4 scene 3
“now you sound like a man come one lets go see kind edward the army is ready all we have to do now is say goodbye to the king macbeth is ripe for the picking well be acting as gods agents cheer up as mach as you an a new day will come at last”
(they are ready to oppose macbeth ready to take him down)
A great perturbation in nature, to receive at once the
benefit of sleep and do the effects of watching!
doctor to gentlewomen.. lady macbeths servant
act 5 scene 1
“its unnatural to be asleep and act as if your awake”
(lady macbeth isnt “sleeping;’ shes sleepwalking)
Out, damned spot! Out, I say! One-two— why then ’tis time to do’t.

The Thane of Fife had a wife; where is she now? What, will these hands ne’er be clean?

Lady macbeth in her sleep
act 5 scene 1
“come on damned spot out i command you one, two, ok its time to do it now””the thane of fife had a wife where is she now what will my hands never been clean?”
(shes admitting her murders like macduffs family in her sleep, she relives it all in her sleep.. her and Macbeths murders)
Foul whisperings are abroad. Unnatural deeds
Do breed unnatural troubles: infected minds To their deaf pillows will discharge their secrets: More needs she the divine than the physician. God, God, forgive us all!
Doctor to gentlewomen
act 5 scene 1
“evil rumors are going round unnatural acts will cause supernatural things to happen people with guilty and deranged minds will confess their secrets to their pillows as they sleep this women needs a priest more than a doctor”
(doctor would be a wise character, hes saying if you do something against human nature like lady macbeth)
Now does he feel His secret murders sticking on his hands, Now minutely revolts upbraid his faith-breach; Those he commands move only in command, Nothing in love. Now does he feel his title
Hang loose about him, like a giant’s robe Upon a dwarfish thief
aungus to other nobels
act 5 scene 2
“now macbeth feels the blood of his murdered enemies sticking to his hands now rebel armies punish him every minute for his treachery the soldiers he commands are only following orders they dont fight because they love macbeth now he seems too small to be a great king like a midget trying to wear a robe of a giant”
(shows that everyone wants to rebel against who liked and trusted macbeth before like his own army)
Bring me no more reports; let them fly all!Till Birnam Wood remove to Dunsinane I cannot taint with fear. What’s the boy Malcolm? Was he not born of woman? The spirits that know All mortal consequences have pronounced me thus “Fear not, Macbeth; no man that’s born of woman Shall e’er have power upon thee.” Then fly, false thanes,
MAcbeth to doctor and servants
act 5 scene 3
“dont bring me anymore reports i dont care if all th thanes desert me until brinam wood gets up and moves to dunsinane i wont be affected by fear whats the boy malcolm? wasnt he born from a women? the spirits that know the future have told me this “dont be afraid macbeth no man born from a women will ever defeat you”
(his manic swings so his really happy now cause the witches predictions)
I have lived long enough. My way of life Is fall’n into the sear, the yellow leaf,And that which should accompany old age,As honor, love, obedience, troops of friends,I must not look to have; but, in their stead, Curses, not loud but deep, mouth-honor, breath, Which the poor heart would fain deny and dare not. Seyton!
macbeth
act 5 scene 3
“I have lived long enough. My way of life Is fallen into the dry, withered yellow leaf, And the things which should accompany old age, Honor, love, obedience, troops of friends, I think I’ll have, but, instead of them, I’ll have Curses, not loud, only deep, mouth-honor, breath, Which the poor heart would gladly deny, and dare not. Seyton!”
(macbeths depressed side, what he was like at the start of the novel he wants honor)
Canst thou not minister to a mind diseased, Pluck from the memory a rooted sorrow, Raze out the written troubles of the brain, And with some sweet oblivious antidote Cleanse the stuff’d bosom of that perilous stuff Which weighs upon the heart?
Macbeth to Doctor
act 5 scene 3
“Can’t you minister to a diseased mind? Pluck a rooted sorrow from the memory? Wipe out the written troubles of the brain, And cleanse the burdened heart of that dangerous stuff
Which weighs upon the heart with some sweet antidote
Which will make her oblivious to all those things?”
(back to being depressed cant i take something that will take away the pain like a pill”
Throw physic to the dogs, I’ll none of it. Come, put mine armor on; give me my staff.
Macbeth to the doctor
act 5 scene 3
“Throw medicine to the dogs, I’ll have none of it. Come, put my amour on. Give me my staff.”
(goes crazy and after doc says i cant give you pills so macbeth is all screw you i dont need pills)
Let every soldier hew him down a bough, And bear’t before him: thereby shall we shadow The numbers of our host, and make discovery Err in report of us.
Malcolm to soldiers
act 5 scene 4
“Let every soldier cut down a bough, And hold it in front of him. That way, we shall hide The numbers of our host and make military intelligence Make an error in reporting our strength.”
(malcolm is making the witches predictions come true)
I will not be afraid of death and bane Till Birnam Forest come to Dunsinane.
Macbeth to the doctor
act 5 scene 3
“I will not be afraid of death and ruin, Until Birnam forest come to Dunsinane. “
(foreshadowing the next scene)
**** Out, out, brief candle! Life’s but a walking shadow, a poor player That struts and frets his hour upon the stage And then is heard no more. It is a tale
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, Signifying nothing.
Macbeth to himself
act 5 scene 5
“out out brief candle life is nothing more than an illusion its like a poor actor who struts and worries for his hour on the stage and then is never heard from again life is a story told by an idiot full of noise and emotional disturbance but devoid f meaning”
(last siloqy. hes saying my life is over its worth nothing out out brief candle is to his wife saying she died too soon, the rest is him saying were bad actors playing our own lifes and its sucky and so who wrote it and its told by an idiot)

Those clamorous harbingers of blood and death.”
siward to macduff and macduffs response
act 5 scene 6
” good luck if we meet macbeths army tonight let us be beaten if we cannot fight”
“blow all the trumpets. they loudly announce the news of blood and death”

Of all men else I have avoided thee. But get thee back; my soul is too much charged With blood of thine already.
macduff to macbeth and visversa
act 5 scene 8
“turn around you dog from hell turn around”
(challenge i will kill you like a man and mocking him like im sick of killing macduffs)
Despair thy charm, And let the angel whom thou still hast served Tell thee, Macduff was from his mother’s womb Untimely ripp’d.
macduff to macbeth
act 5 scene 8
“you can forget your charm the evil spirt told you serve can tell you that i was not born they cut me out of my mothers
9womb before she could bear me naturally”
macduff finally fulfilling the prophosy and telliung us that he wasnt women born macbeth is semi releaved)
Yet I will try the last. Before my body I throw my warlike shield! Lay on, Macduff, And damn’d be him that first cries, “Hold, enough!”
Macbeth to MAcduff
act 5 scene 8
“ill fight to the end ill put up my shield and battle you come on lets go at it macduff and damn the first man who cries “stop enough””
(macbeth wont accept fate! he wants to change fate and by trying to change it he makes it worse)
Your son, my lord, has paid a soldier’s debt: He only lived but till he was a man; The which no sooner had his prowess confirm’d In the unshrinking station where he fought, But like a man he died.
Ross to Siward
act 5 scene 8
“my lord your song has paid the soldiers prince: death he only lived long enough to become a man, and as soon as he proved that he was a man by fighting like one he died”
